Terms & Conditions
Last updated 3 August 2026
These terms govern your use of YPAE and participation in the events we run. The service is operated by A M Armaan, WTC, Perungudi, Chennai, Tamil Nadu 600096, India. By registering for an event you agree to what follows.
What we provide
A ticket to a YPAE event entitles you to attend the live online session for that event, access the written materials for it, and submit one entry to its competition before the published deadline. Competition-only entry excludes the live session.
Sessions are delivered online. We publish the date and time in advance and will give notice if either changes. We do not guarantee that recordings will be made available.
Eligibility and accounts
- You must provide an accurate email address. Your account is tied to it.
- One account per person. One competition entry per person per event.
- You are responsible for activity under your account.
- Participants under 18 should have a parent or guardian review these terms before registering.
Your work
You keep ownership of everything you build. We claim no rights in your code or your simulations.
By submitting an entry you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display it, your chosen display name, and a still image or clip of it, on our public gallery and in material promoting YPAE. You can ask us to remove your entry from public display at any time by writing to amohamed@karunya.edu.in.
You must have the right to submit what you submit. Presenting someone else’s work as your own results in disqualification.
Using AI
Using AI tools to write your code is expected and encouraged. It is the workflow we teach. This is not a restriction on entries.
Judging
Entries are assessed on scientific accuracy, visual design, and creativity. Assessment involves both automated review and human judgement. Judging decisions are final. We publish category rankings; individual score breakdowns are private to the participant and are not published.
Conduct
Harassment, hate speech, and disruption of sessions or chat are not tolerated. We may remove access without refund for serious or repeated breaches.
No warranty
The service, the sessions, and the written materials are provided “as is.” We do not promise they are error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose beyond what is described on the event page. Software you write during an event, including any we provide as a starting point, comes with no warranty of any kind.
Assumption of risk
You take part at your own risk. Sessions run online over infrastructure we do not control — your internet connection, your device, video call providers, payment processors, and third-party AI tools. We are not responsible for a session going badly, or an entry being lost or damaged, because any of those failed. Running code, including code an AI tool wrote, is something you do on your own machine and at your own risk.
Availability and liability
We work to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss — lost time, lost data, or lost opportunity — arising from your use of the service.
- Our total liability arising from your use of the service, however the claim is framed, is capped at the amount you paid us for the event in question.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Indian law — for fraud, for gross negligence, or in the case of death or personal injury we directly cause.
Your responsibility to us
You agree to cover our reasonable costs if a claim against us arises from something you did: submitting work that infringes someone else’s rights, breaching the Conduct section above, or misusing the service in a way that harms us or another participant.
Events outside our control
We are not liable for a delay or cancellation caused by something outside our reasonable control — outages at our hosting, video, or payment providers, or events like natural disasters, government action, or internet infrastructure failures. If that happens we will reschedule where we can and refund where we cannot, per the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes affecting a live event will be communicated to registered participants by email. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India have exclusive jurisdiction.
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still stands. These terms are the entire agreement between you and us about an event, replacing anything said elsewhere that conflicts with them.
