Star-to-Singularity

Daiwik

A journey from a star to singularity , when light chooses the dark path.

Still from Star-to-Singularity

What it does

Star to Singularity is an interactive scientific simulation that visualizes the complete life cycle of a massive star, from its birth as a main-sequence star to its dramatic death in a core-collapse supernova and its final transformation into a black hole. The simulation combines astrophysical principles with real-time rendering to demonstrate how stellar evolution depends on mass, gravity, nuclear fusion, and gravitational collapse.

The project features a smooth transition between evolutionary phases, physically inspired supernova effects, a dynamically generated accretion disk, a photon ring, Doppler beaming, gravitational redshift, and gravitational lensing around the black hole. A live information panel displays important physical quantities such as stellar mass, temperature, luminosity, Schwarzschild radius, photon sphere radius, and accretion properties, helping users connect the visual effects with the underlying physics.

The goal of this project is to make complex astrophysical concepts intuitive and engaging through interactive visualization. By combining scientific accuracy with real-time graphics, Star to Singularity serves as an educational tool that allows students to explore the fascinating evolution of some of the universe's most extreme objects.
