Real time VOID

V

Experience the mind-bending physics of curved spacetime with an interactive, mathematically exact black hole ray-tracer that runs in real-time.

What it does

Built in Python and Taichi, this GPU-accelerated sandbox visualizes a dynamic Kerr black hole complete with a super-heated accretion disk, X-ray corona, and relativistic polar jets. Instead of using standard 3D polygons, it operates as a relativistic ray-tracer—firing virtual photons backwards from your camera and calculating their exact paths through curved spacetime using the Kerr-Schild metric.

The engine actively computes true physical phenomena like gravitational redshift, relativistic Doppler beaming, and blackbody thermodynamics. A Temporal Anti-Aliasing (TAA) pipeline then processes the raw math into a razor-sharp, photorealistic image. It is a mathematically rigorous astrophysics simulation where you can adjust the spin and watch exact gravitational lensing warp a procedurally generated Milky Way at 60 FPS.

Controls 0:SCHWARZSCHILD and 1:KERR (in the toggle bar) Mouse (Left Click + Drag): Orbit the camera around the black hole. Mouse Wheel (or Z / X): Zoom in and out. Shift (Hold): Move, zoom, and orbit faster. Spacebar: Pause or resume simulation time. [ / ] or - / =: Decrease or increase the speed of time. 1 - 5: Instantly snap to cinematic camera presets. 6: Start an automatic cinematic tour. R: Reset the simulation to default settings. Esc: Quit the simulation.
