What it does

Black Hole Simulator X is an interactive real-time visualization of a rotating Kerr black hole, designed to make complex astrophysical concepts accessible through immersive computer graphics. Built using Python, Panda3D, and custom GLSL shaders, the simulator combines scientific visualization with real-time rendering to recreate phenomena such as the event horizon, accretion disk, photon sphere, relativistic jets, Doppler beaming, and a procedurally generated galaxy.

The simulator renders these effects using GPU shaders, procedural noise, particle systems, and dynamic lighting. Users can freely explore the scene with interactive camera controls and enable an integrated Physics Guide that labels key black hole structures, displays mathematical equations, and explains the underlying concepts in an intuitive way. This transforms the simulator from a visual demonstration into an educational tool for learning about general relativity and black hole physics.

What makes this project unique is its combination of scientific accuracy, interactive exploration, and real-time graphics within a lightweight Python application. Rather than presenting static images, it allows users to navigate around the black hole, inspect different physical features, and better understand the extreme environment surrounding one of the universe's most fascinating objects. It serves as both a graphics programming showcase and an engaging platform for visualizing modern astrophysical concepts.
