Event Horizon Explorer (Inspired from Interstellar)

Aditya

Navigate around a black hole and witness gravity reshape the universe through gravitational lensing.

Still from Event Horizon Explorer (Inspired from Interstellar)

What it does

This simulation is an interactive visualization of a black hole surrounded by a glowing accretion disk. As the camera moves around the black hole, the immense gravitational field bends the paths of light, producing realistic gravitational lensing effects predicted by Einstein's theory of General Relativity. The accretion disk appears warped, duplicated, and wrapped around the event horizon, allowing viewers to observe how extreme gravity distorts our perception of space. Rather than presenting a static rendering, the simulation lets users experience the black hole from multiple viewpoints, revealing different lensing patterns and visual phenomena as the perspective changes. Combining real-time rendering with physically inspired light bending, the project offers an engaging way to explore one of the universe's most fascinating objects while making complex astrophysical concepts intuitive and visually compelling.
