What it does

Chirp is an interactive, real-time desktop simulation built to model and visualize the dramatic coalescence of binary black holes. Driven by a Python backend and hardware-accelerated GLSL shaders, the application computes and renders complex general relativity mechanics instantly.

How It Works? Well now thats interesting :) Through the control dashboard, users can dynamically adjust initial system parameters, such as the independent solar masses of both black holes and their initial separation scale in kilometers. As the simulation plays out, the physics engine solves the equations of motion for the inspiral, updating a live gravitational wave strain graph synchronously frame by frame. The telemetry suite reads directly from these calculations, feeding the user mathematically precise metrics including orbital velocity as a percentage of the speed of light, instantaneous separation in Schwarzschild radii, and the real-time frequency in Hertz.

How accurate is this?? Is this some kind of animation? NOPE! It does calculate the errors :D Rather than an aesthetic loop, the simulator enforces strict physical constraints. It dynamically integrates energy drift over long runtimes, compensating for numerical dissipation to maintain strict conservation laws. This allows the system to accurately compute exactly how much mass is converted into raw gravitational wave energy and derive the precise final mass of the coalescence remnant.

What is that noise??? To make the simulation truly immersive, the engine bridges data with sound. The accelerating orbital frequency is fed directly into an active audio buffer, translating the physics into a synchronized sound wave. Users can literally hear the iconic gravitational chirping pitch and volume swell up until the exact millisecond of the merger, creating an engaging, scientifically accurate experience.
