What it does

Project Title: Celestia โ€” GR Masterpiece EditionProject OverviewCelestia is an advanced, real-time, interactive General Relativity (GR) simulator designed to visualize the extreme physics of spinning (Kerr) black holes. Operating right inside a custom, real-time web environment, the application bridges the gap between complex mathematical astrophysics and high-performance front-end design, delivering movie-quality visuals at a physical level of accuracy.Scientific & Physics Accuracy (The Black Hole Engine)This simulator actively computes light paths (geodesics) through warped spacetime using custom fragment shaders. Key physics features include:Kerr Spacetime Frame-Dragging: Simulates the gravitational physics of a rotating black hole, resulting in the iconic asymmetric flattening and distortion of the central event horizon shadow.Relativistic Doppler Beaming & Redshift: Simulates physical light frequency changes. Gas in the accretion disk rushing toward the observer undergoes extreme blueshifting to appear blindingly white-hot, while gas moving away experiences deep gravitational redshift and dimming.Gravitational Lensing & Einstein Rings: Employs intense coordinate-warping algorithms near the photon sphere regime to realistically stretch and warp background starfields into sweeping, concentric Einstein rings.Dual-Ring Accretion Lensing: Accurately renders the path of light traveling from behind the horizon, creating the path-warped top and bottom loops of the accretion disk.Creative Engineering & UI FeaturesThe visual simulator is wrapped in a highly polished, interactive dashboard built for data transparency and user experimentation:Real-Time Parametric Sandbox: Features interactive control sliders allowing users to dynamically modify variables on the fly, including black hole spin parameter ($a$), observer inclination angle, fields of view (FOV), and exposure.Astrophysical Simulation Presets: Equipped with quick-load configurations for famous cosmic bodies, including M87*, Sagittarius A*, and the cinematic Gargantua.Live Geodesic Path Analyzer: An integrated 2D subsystem visualization tracking equatorial null geodesics, plotting inner boundaries, the photon sphere, and the Innermost Stable Circular Orbit (ISCO) cleanly on a secondary display matrix.Extreme Physics Toggles: Allows the user to toggle relativistic phenomena (Doppler Beaming, Gravitational Redshift) independently to isolate and observe their singular impacts on the cosmic aesthetic.

Put this in the terminal to run the simulation: python sim.py --quality high --spin 0.999
